Tonsillectomy

We took you to Hibachi for your pre-tonsillectomy meal. We stayed at Michele's the night before because your surgery is scheduled for 8 am. We arrived at the 3 Gables Surgery Center at 7:45. They took you back at 8:50. You were a little teary eyed asking if momma could go back with you. They let you play a little fishy game while waiting. You wouldn't let me take any pictures of you so I snapped a shot of your recovery number 7 :) On the way home the anesthesia was wearing off you vomited and felt much better after that. I sat in the back with you and you slept most of the way home. A few hours after being home you ate a some mashed potatoes. Gran Gran bought you slushy magic and daddy made you one with Gatorade and you drank it all up! So proud to be your momma you are recovering great.

K4

Sweet face

This little sweet face makes me smile...it warms my heart. Snuggles, bedtime stories, board games, playing school and swinging are your small requests. At this moment, you really enjoying chewing gum. You are sneaky! I find empty gum packages everywhere. You are also loving Beverly Hills chihuahua and puppy dogs. We purchased your backpack and lunch box for school a weeks ago. You have been carrying it around ever since. You start pre-K in a few more weeks. Really? it's hard to believe that you are starting school. You have a new BFF Julianna. She has been staying all night with you some this summer. You love to play in the backyard in the sand box and on the swings. Doc adores you! You love to take him treats. He watches when you start to run toward him and he will go ahead and sit for his treat. You have trained him well :) You eat cucumbers like an apple. You love to help momma in the kitchen. Oh, you recently learned how to fold a washcloth. You watch me and ask intelligent questions. We were watching tv the other day and someone mentioned Orphans. I was anticipating the question from you "Momma what are orphans?" You didn't ask...well not until the next day when driving to town. I love how your little mind works. You still love "Nummie." You and Skylea had a birthday party for her the other day. Still sucking your thumb when you are holding "Nummie." Ayla, I love you. So very much. Right now you are 4 1/2.

Birthday Boy 8

Today, you are 8 years old! You made me a mamma...you are the absolute sweetest child. We went to Williamson today and you wanted to eat your favorite Subway. Your buddy Ryan and his family came in while we were eating. He and his brother came home with us to play for the evening. First, we went by Gran Gran's to have Oreo ice cream cake. She and paw paw bought you a dinosaur Lego. At home we shot your new gun that daddy and I bought you, went fishing and played baseball in the bottom. You said "Best birthday ever." Love you :)

Football Camp

This weekend the new High School Mingo Central hosted this very first football camp. Friday, Joe May the running back stopped your daddy to tell him what an awesome little fella you are. "He listens and he is fast." During camp he told you that he would not be present Saturday and asked to take a picture with you :) You are favored my son by God and man. Daddy and I are always trying to encourage you and tell you how proud of you that we are. For a teenager to go out of his way to speak kind words about you is impressive. On Saturday they gave out 10 awards and there was 40 some campers that attended. Your name was called last for Beat Defensive Camper :) You were so happy!

Vintage Wedding

My friend Krystal was married June 2, 2012 and she kindly allowed me to be her wedding planner. I have planned many parties but never a wedding. I must say I really enjoyed it. My best friend Angel helped me handmake her decorations. We originally planned to serve the drinks from the bed of a vintage truck which fell through so, I decided 3 days before the wedding to put together this adorable stand :)
The brides bouquet was made of fabric rosettes, burlap ribbon and pearls.

Easter and Red Roses

Kelan came into my room at 6:30 AM with a nose bleed. He was so excited to see what the "Easter Bunny" had left him that he could not return to sleep. I was trying my best to dose back off. I woke up to him rubbing my hair then he gently leaned in and kissed my face :)
While putting Ayla's jommies on her that evening before bed (extremely tire) she grabs my blankie from when I was a little girl. I said "you like mommas blankie?" She said "Yeah she smells good." I said what does she smell like? "Red roses."

Sweet Words

While getting ready for church Sunday my sweet Kelan was lying on the bed looking at me. I said "Bubby what are you doing?" He said "Looking at your pretty face." This child is so precious..my response was "You are going to make your wife so happy one day." I mean that. I know he will be an awazing man of God. So thoughtful...so caring. So tender hearted.
Lord, I pray he is strong, courageous, a hard worker, dedicated, loyal, trustworthy, forgiving, patient and everything you have designed him to be.

American Pickers

While working today a patient comes into the office to inform us that Mike from American Pickers was next door at the coffee house. So, Lynn and I go over to grab a quick photo with him.
She was so excited she jumped in front of the judge and says to me "Take our picture." She is such a hoot!

Create.

I love to create..it calms me. Lately, I have been making flower headbands for my daughter. I began after purchasing Ayla's Easter dress. The dress didn't have a matching hair bow so I decided to make one. Here are a few pictures.
My grandmothers name is Nancy Rose. I felt this collection fit that name perfectly :)
This one was made to match my daughters Easter dress.
My friend Dusty asked that I made a few to put in gift baskets to be auctioned off at Regional Christian School's dinner auction :) I was soo excited that she asked.
Because, I love brown and fell in love with this fabric.
I wanted to try something other than headbands.
The Charlotte collection named after my friend Lauren's baby.

Lizards 3-23-12

Kelan and Cross found 5 lizards while playing outside this evening. They ended up in our living room...eek! I am trying to be supportive. Much better than the hamsters they have been asking for. They are so excited they are naming each of them :) Daddy cleaned out the fish tank that was in Ayla's room. Her goldfish died 2 days after bringing them home. How did I get stuck with all these animal lovers? I have never been a huge fan of animals especially reptiles! But if my loves are happy then Momma's happy.
Kelan keeps saying "Thanks for letting me keep the lizards momma...I love you."

Have you been drinking from the toilet?

Pete and Shawnna are the leaders of the Wednesday night youth out reach program at out church. AMAZING couple! He posted this on facebook this morning and I just had to share it...
Have you been drinking from the toilet? My wife and I had a wonderful Old English Sheepdog that passed away a couple of years ago. The other night something happened that made me think about Captain Omega. When I walked into the bathroom I noticed that the commode lid was up and this was a definite no, no when Omega was around the house. If Omega’s water bowl was empty he would find water somewhere and if the commode was up this was his number one option. Omega didn’t care where he was getting the water from he just wanted his thirst satisfied even if the water he was drinking was full of bacteria, chemicals, and other harmful substances. Quenching his thirst was all that was important. Today I believe that many in our society are making the same mistake as Captain Omega. They have a great thirst for the spiritual and a relationship with God that they fill themselves with the first thing that comes along and seems to appease their thirst. They are not concerned with whether what they are drinking in is doing them harm they are only concerned with the fact it gives them instant satisfaction. There are so many false prophets and organization today that seems to have the answer for your thirst but they are really just cause harm. Some seem to have the direct pathway to God or the key to a prosperous and full life on earth. The problem is that there is truly only one way to quench spiritual thirst; Jesus Christ. John 4:13-14 (KJV) 13Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: 14But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. If you are seeking to satisfy your spiritual thirst through anything outside of Jesus you are just drinking toilet water. There is one clear path to a relationship with God and this is through Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God.

Inspired

While cleaning out my daughters closet yesterday I filled a bag with clothes she can't wear anymore. I wanted to make some hairbows to match some of her spring outfits.
Using some old t-shirts and jogging pants this is what I made...

Easter Dress Altered

I found Ayla the sweetest dress the other day. They didn't sell a matching hair bow so I decided to make one. Here are the before and after of her shoes. I had some extra material so I made bows for her shoes. They were hand me downs so I didn't mind to alter them. I added a little bow to the dress one on top of the one that was already there to tie everything together.

Ok so everyone is making these cool wreaths from Mesh. I found this super cute bunny and decided to try one. Simple but pretty cute!
